Why this site exists
Most writing about monitoring software falls into two piles. Vendor pages explain what a product can do but go quiet on what it costs at your size. Comparison lists rank twenty tools in a few paragraphs each and rarely say who should walk away. Neither helps much when you are sitting with a quote for a sensor pack, a device count that does not match the vendor’s, and a trial that ends next Thursday.
So this site does one narrow thing. It covers 8 network monitoring products that small and mid-sized organisations genuinely end up trialling, plus the discovery and packet capture tools that make a purchase fairer, and it writes about them the way a procurement conversation goes: how the licence is counted, what the bill looks like at roughly 50, 250 and 1,000 devices, what the trial lets you prove, where the hidden costs sit, and how hard it would be to leave. Free and open-source tools are included as the do-it-yourself baseline, because the honest alternative to any subscription is often “run it yourself and pay in time”.
Who writes it
Netops24 is written and edited by ISABELLE, CLAUDINE, CATHERINE, JEANNE ALARY. Every review, comparison and guide is checked by the editor before it is published, and the editor is the person you reach when you write to editor@netops24.icu. There is no newsroom behind the site and we do not pretend otherwise; it is a small, independent publication with a narrow focus.
Where a vendor offers a public trial or a live demo, we work through it ourselves — the same sign-up, the same limits, the same first-run experience any buyer would get — and describe what the trial and the vendor’s own documentation show. We do not operate a private lab or a fleet of client networks; the trial is the same one you can start today, and we say so when a review draws on one. Where a detail can only come from the vendor — list prices, licence terms, support tiers, release notes — we take it from the vendor’s own published pages, cross-check it against admin forums and community reports where they exist, say so, and date it. We do not publish figures we cannot source, and we describe a pricing model rather than guess at a number.
How the site is funded
The site carries no display advertising, and at the moment no link on it is an affiliate link: we earn no commission from any vendor. Every product link goes directly to the vendor’s own website. If that ever changes, the links concerned will be labelled where they appear and theaffiliate disclosure will be updated first. Nothing of the kind would change which products we cover, the order of any table or the verdict a product receives.
What we will never do
- Pose as a vendor, a reseller or the official home of any product.
- Host, mirror or repackage software of any kind. Every product link goes to the vendor’s own website.
- Publish user ratings, star scores or testimonials we cannot verify.
- Sell a verdict, a table position or a paid review.
Corrections
Pricing pages and licence terms change often. If you spot something out of date — or you are a vendor and believe we have described your product unfairly — email the editor with the page address and the source for the correction. We check it, fix it if we got it wrong, and update the date on the page.
